Visual Development & AI: The Great Merge

Today, we are very excited to announce the release of WeWeb 3.0, a significant step toward making web development accessible to non-programmers.

In the past couple of years, thousands of non-programmers have built an array of impressive web products using a great suite of visual development tools that, as a whole, form the No-Code movement. WeWeb has been a key player in this No-Code movement since its inception, and our community of users has built products we couldn’t be more proud of.

But, while visual development is more accessible than traditional coding, it still presents a steep learning curve for many, creating adoption barriers and slowing innovators in bringing their ideas to life.

Today, with the release of WeWeb 3.0, this barrier falls as we merge highly advanced AI capabilities with a sophisticated no-code builder.

We embedded at the heart of our platform a smart AI assistant called WeWeb AI that can be prompted to:

• Design beautiful, personalized, and fully responsive web pages.
• Implement business logic and advanced data manipulation workflows.
• Configure databases, authentication, user roles, permissions, and more.

All AI-generated outputs can be fully edited in WeWeb’s intuitive visual builder, ensuring you have complete control over refining, customizing, and perfecting your web applications.

Combining the ease of building apps with natural language and the ability to control the output by using a graphical user interface (GUI) is a revolution that will enable non-programmers to build best-in-class web products faster than ever.

Internally, we call this new paradigm “natural programming,” which is at the confluence of two transformative trends reshaping the web: 

• The continuous addition of abstraction layers to the code (in our case, a visual layer, the GUI).
• The automation of development through AI.

We call it this way because it only requires using natural language and vision (you see what is built, and you can move the elements on a visual canvas). Andrej Karpathy recently called programming with AI “vibe coding” which is a great term; maybe “vibe no-coding” could be a thing too.

Perhaps another term will be coined at some point, and it will probably be different for tools manipulating only code (like Cursor) versus tools outputting editable elements from a GUI like WeWeb. In any case, we are excited to see more and more “natural programmers” trying WeWeb and calling themselves whatever they want!

So, what’s next? Although presented as one entity, WeWeb AI is, in fact, a set of specialized AI agents working together to assist users. Our vision for the future is to expand and refine these agents as AI becomes better at handling longer contexts and more complex tasks.

Here are some of the new agents we are planning to add in the near future:

• An Audit agent to ensure your apps are secure and follow web development best practices.
• A Monitoring agent alerting you to suspicious activity in your apps in production and helping you fix those issues on the fly.
• A Documenting agent helping you document your applications, making them easier to maintain.
• A Product Manager agent helping you collect user feedback, convert it into actionable product tickets, and distribute those tickets to building agents so they can action those tickets in your apps under your supervision.

AI is improving at an incredible pace, reshaping entire industries, including No-Code. WeWeb will play a leading role in this transformation by evolving into an AI-driven orchestration platform for “natural programmers”. • AI tokens are included with every plan — and you can purchase more via plan upgrades.
• You can publish for free on a WeWeb subdomain.
• Code export is included in every paid plan (including monthly plans).
• Custom domain hosting add-ons start at $10/month.
• Regional pricing is now available for our fantastic communities in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa and Thailand.

To help better understand this pricing transition, we’ve built a pricing comparison calculator so that existing customers can see how the new pricing affects their subscriptions. Approximately 92% of our customers will pay less, while the remaining 8% will be grandfathered into their current plans.
